Temporary Mental Health Classroom Support Specialist - thru 2017-2018 school year. May re-post for additional school years.

The Estacada School District has a need for a Mental Health Specialist who has additional classroom management skills to be able to support the Special Education teacher in a self-contained classroom setting, delivering educational opportunities to all students. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a valid professional license with the State of Oregon in a Mental Health or Behavioral capacity. Successful teaching experience preferred.  Have the ability to work collaboratively in a school setting with the special education teacher to deliver services to high needs students. Must have a passion for working with students. Meet the District minimum physical, basic skills, and/or health standards for the position.

CONTRACT LENGTH: For the remainder of the 2017/2018 school year. 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing supportive services to assist students, staff and families in the development and implementation of comprehensive behavior intervention/management plans for students. Effectively support all students in a self-contained, inclusion-model classroom with opportunities for mainstreaming as appropriate. Some case management duties required. Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to facilitate, assist, and provide a learning environment that will enable each student to achieve. Meet with department colleagues for planning and continual program evaluation. Must be able to work collaboratively with special education teacher to support the needs of all students.

SALARY: Salary and placement will be in accordance with the District's salary schedule for licensed employees for the 2017/2018 school year.
