The Estacada School District is seeking a full-time Behavorial Specialist to work in our Academic & Behavioral Learning Envirnoment Program at the Secondary Level beginning with the 2018/2019 school year.

The Estacada School District is seeking a highly qualified special education teacher who shares our philosophy of inclusion as a model program for behaviorally challenged students. This would be a self-contained classroom with mainstreaming opportunities. 

 

The Academic and Behavioral Learning Environment (ABLE) program is a district special education program serving students in grades 6-12 who struggle with moderate to severe social and behavioral issues. This structured environment strives to integrate students into the general education setting as quickly as possible, but may serve students full time as well. The program is staffed by a special education teacher as well as a licensed social worker.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a valid Oregon Teaching License with a Special Education endorsementment. Successful Special Education/Case Management teaching experience required.  Must have extensive knowledge of federal and state requirements governing the education of special needs students.  Must have experience in writing and reviewing student IEPs.  Meet the District minimum physical, basic skills, and/or health standards for the position.

 

CONTRACT LENGTH: 191-day probabtionary contract for the 2018/2019 school year.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively run and manage a self-contained inclusion-model classroom with opportunities for mainstreaming as appropriate. Case management duties required. Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to facilitate, assist, and provide a learning environment that will enable each student to achieve. Meet with department colleagues for planning and continual program evaluation. Must be able to work collaboratively with mental health professionals to support the needs of all students.

 

SALARY: Salary and placement will be in accordance with the District's salary schedule for licensed employees. Current salary based on 2017/2018 licensed salary schedule. Re-opener for 2018-2019 school year.
