1.0 fte Science Teacher @ Estacada Middle School - Posting dates: 04/13/18 - Open Until Filled

QUALIFICATIONS:  Hold a valid Oregon Teaching License with a science  endorsement with a mid-level authorization. (Math endorsement a plus) Desire teachers who have a strong support of a continuous learning model in the classroom; support and belief that a system based on "Learning," as opposed to teaching, should be our systems focus; supports proficiency based learning and grading, and is willing to take risks. Successful classroom teaching experience desired.   Meet the District minimum physical, basic skills, and /or health standards for the position.

ASSIGNMENT LENGTH:  191 Contract days in 18/19 school year.   

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  Employ a variety of instructional strategies and materials related to current science instruction with a strong focus on infusing math curriculum; meet with department colleagues for planning and continual program evaluation; teach toward the achievement of district approved curriculum goals and essential learning skills for 6th -8th grade students; have strong knowledge of assessment models for teaching science. Opportunity to teach science electives too!

SALARY:      Salary and placement will be in accordance with the District's salary schedule for licensed employees.
