Summit Learning Charter is a unique Charter School specializing in virtual education blended with real-life enrichment and dual credit college programs. We are fortunate to offer a blended learning environment where we get to teach students at our on-site campus in Eagle Creek as well as teach online from home.
Job Position description:
Summit Learning Charter is looking for an Oregon certified math teacher, foundational - advanced levels, who can deliver instruction to all levels of learners using our virtual curriculum and digital tools, as well as, support student onsite during planned enrichment activities.
Full time for the 2024/25 school year.
Essential Qualifications:
Candidates need to be experienced and successful in developing differentiated lessons that scaffold effectively and most importantly can demonstrate caring communication to help students overcome obstacles.
We use a wide variety of digital programs, apps and tools to help create an engaging learning experience for students. The teaching candidate needs to be comfortable learning and using these digital tools with students.
Current teaching license with appropriate mathematics endorsements: Middle and High School/ Advanced Math.
Skilled in development & implementation of learning activities, behavior management, and teaching to individual student skill levels.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing and build relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Maintain a clean and organized work/ lab environment.
Candidates must have the ability to carry and load computers and supplies.
Ability to learn new technology tools quickly (web based tools, curriculum supports, database)
A flexible and adaptable attitude, and being able to work as part of a team is a must!
Have current 1st aide card, or willingness to get one.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
Math instruction and student support for all assigned levels.
Tutoring.
Math support Lab.
Participation in PD activities.
Grading of student work and timely feedback for student growth.
Outreach to students to provide support and tutoring.
Work Location:
This position will serve students in our Virtual Academy Program in grades 6-12. This position will have duties that can be done at home, but the applicant will also need to report to our Eagle Creek location 2 x per week to support our enrichment activities, as well as, 1 friday a month for team meetings.
